Day 67- "Outdoors"!

If you want to get outdoors, open the door. If you want to get OUTDOORS, look in the friday editions of 'The Spectrum & Daily News'. I have gone on several hikes that have been spotlighted here and they were all great.  If you don't get the paper but still want to get the scoop, go to the online edition and click on the OUTDOORS link.  You can see pictures and read a few stories but for more than that you will need to cough up some dough. No need to get your panties in a twist though as the fee is only $2 for 24 hours or $9.95 for a month.

Day 66- "Storyteller"!

Take a guess where this sculpture titled "Storyteller" should be located...if you guessed in front of a library, YOUR RIGHT! This sculpture is by Ed Hlavka and was part of the 2008 Art Around The Corner outdoor exhibit. The price was only $65,000 so maybe I will take two! Located in front of the St. George Library on 88 w and 100 s.

Day 65- Lake to Lake Relay!

I always knew there were crazy people on my husband's side of the family and this race TOTALLY  proves it. A cousin's wife and her family returned AGAIN this year to run the Lake to Lake Relay. Yes, once wasn't enough, they have done this race repeatedly. This race starts at Gunlock State Park and goes for 50!!! miles to finally end at Sand Hollows State Park. This year the weather was gorgeous and I must admit to being just slightly envious at the fun they had. Have already warned the fam, next year WE are running this too! Yes insanity is hereditary, but it's also contagious...

Day 64- Tuacahn Saturday Market!

When I went to the Saturday Market at Tuacahn on the 2012 seasons opening day I was suprised at the size of the event. There was not a lot of vendors but the season is early and I think as the year goes along more vendors will come. Admission is free and there is always live entertainment. I was quite impressed with the family of five children that were playing the violin. The music was snappy and the kids were amazing. A pancake breakfast is available from 9-11. There were also several vendors selling lunch food.  Season runs March 3-December 15. Hours are 9-1.

The race is on Saturday morning with a pancake, sausage, scrambled egg breakfast to follow. So all those calories you just burned off...THEIR BACK!

Day 62- Dino Tracks Museum!

I must admit to feeling a little disappointed the first time I went here. Yes, it is called Dino Tracks, but in my mind I envisioned full size dinosaurs with huge, bloody fangs.  When I went to the museum all I saw was a lot of foot prints. Foot prints? Where was the blood? Where was the gore? I did not go back for a couple of years but when I finally did, I was very impressed. The displays had improved a lot plus I was able to appreciate them for what they were; not what I had assumed they would be. (you DO  know what happens when you assume something don't you?)

Day 61- Closet Revival!

If your broke from spending too much money on clothes, wipe the tears out of your eyes because you have just been saved! Not only does Closet Revival have designer consignment clothes, they will even pay cash upfront for clothes that you take in. The clothes are clean and in good shape. The store is not huge but does have a nice selection of shoes, clothes, purses, jewelery, prom dresses, etc. There is also a back room with marked down items. The selection of men's clothing was small but I felt the quality was quite top of the line.
