Day 52- Irmita's Mexican Resturant!

OK people, if you have a hankerin' for some good old south-of-the-border Mexican food...DON'T GO HERE! My son's refried beans were cold, the rice was plain and the food blah, as in boring, as in could be ground up and bottled for baby food. Now I have eaten Irmita's at the Dixie Center and at Art In The Park...YUM! There are three Irmita's in town, one owned by Irmita and two owned by her ex-husband. The one at 95w 700 south is the ex-hubby's and the one I am reviewing (and regretting!) here.

Day 51- Snow Canyon Overlook!

Stand on the edge of the world at this impressive overlook. From this spot you can see most of Snow Canyon State Park at one go. On the rare day when there are clouds in the sky, take your camera and get some pics of the mist shrouded red mountains. Breath taking!

Day 50- Bella Donna Boutique!

Eclectic would be the word to describe this darling boutique. The floor space is small but the style is HUGE. I recently went to an art open house and saw a woman wearing the most yummy dress. I casually asked where she had bought that bit of eye candy. After prying my fingers off her sleeve she said Bella Donna's. Yup, from here!

Day 49- Kanarra Creek slot hike!

This is one of my most memorable hikes EVER! The hike is quite short and can be done in 4 hours. Before entering the canyon, find a sturdy branch laying around and make yourself a walking stick. A lot of the hike is in the stream and if you wear tennis shoes and have your stick you will be set. There are some water slides and we stripped down to swimming suits and took the plunge several times. It was a blast! The hardest part is at two sections you will have to use the  wooden stairs/rope to go further up. That in ITSELF is an adventure...

Day 48-Painted Pony!

Ok, you want to taste some really great food, go HERE! This place has a cafe feel but is large enough to host 80 people or more. The food is good but the eye appeal is AMAZING! The food is so pretty that if you didn't know how yum it is, one just might ask to take the plate of food home and hang it on the wall as a piece of art. Everything is from scratch and quite gourmet. Lunch is quite reasonable, dinner has some higher priced items. We went here for our daughters wedding dinner and the groom's father rented the whole place. It was so fun and the guests were all quite impressed and raved about the food and service. (Trying to convince the next kid to marry just so we can do it again!)

Day 47- Fireworks!

If you like fireworks, you are in luck! Several times a year the city of St. George will set off fireworks. This  includes the 4th of July, Pioneer Day (24th of July), the Huntsman's World Games and more. The best place to watch the explosions are at the top of the hill by the old airport. Just remember 1) go early to get a good spot 2) don't fall down the side of the mountain and 3) be patient when its all over and the revelers all try to leave at the same time.

Day 46- "Filly"!

This gorgeous statue is titled "Filly" and is by Silvia Davis. It was in the Art Around the Corner from 2004 and donated by Rod & Michelle Orton in honor of Lin & Reva Orton.
